Listen up, because I’m not here to coddle you.
I’m here to tell you the kind of truth you won’t hear from the “rah-rah” crowd or the Instagram “boss babes.”
You need to hear this if you’re a woman over 40 who is thinking about ditching your cushy corporate gig and entering the online coaching game.
You’re not too old.
You’re not too late.
And you sure as hell aren’t invisible.
But let’s not kid ourselves. The world out there has some ideas about
women like you and me, and most of them are ridiculously wrong.
Let’s get the ugly stuff out of the way. There’s a double standard out there.
If a 25-year-old guy in a hoodie launches a startup, people throw money and headlines at him.
If a woman over 40 does it?
They ask, “Isn’t she a little… old for this?”
Here’s the thing: They’re wrong. And you know it. You’ve got more experience, scars, and stories than any kid with a TikTok account.
You’ve been in the trenches. You’ve closed deals, managed crises, and probably fired more people than most “influencers” have followers.
But the world still wants to put you in a box. “Isn’t it time to slow down?” “Shouldn’t you be mentoring, not hustling?” Nonsense!
So, who is that real enemy? It’s that little voice in your head. The one that whispers, “Am I too old for this?” “Will anyone listen to me?”
“Do I still have what it takes?”
Let me tell you something: That voice is a liar. The same voice kept you from asking for that raise, going after that promotion, and speaking up in that meeting.
And every time you listen to it, you hand over your power.
Here’s the truth: The market doesn’t care about your age.
It cares about one thing: can you solve a problem? Can you deliver results?
Can you make someone’s life better, easier, richer, or happier?
If the answer is yes, you win every time.
You know what 25-year-olds don’t have? Battle scars.
They haven’t been through a recession, a merger, or a lawsuit. They don’t know what it’s like to juggle a career, a family, and a mortgage.
You do, which means you’ve got something they can’t fake: wisdom!
Wisdom sells.
Wisdom is what people pay for.
Wisdom is what makes you stand out in a sea of wannabes.
You want proof? Look at the numbers.
The successful entrepreneurs aren’t 20-somethings; they’re people like you, in their 40s, 50s, and beyond.
So, how do you turn all this experience into a business that pays you what you’re worth?
Here’s the blueprint:
1. Own Your Story
Stop hiding your age. Flaunt it. Make it your brand. “I’ve been where you are and know how to get you where you want to go.” That’s your pitch.
Nobody wants to learn from someone who hasn’t been in the arena.
2. Build a Tribe
Find other women like you. Connect, collaborate, and celebrate. There’s power in numbers, and nothing more dangerous to the status quo than a group of wise, experienced women who’ve had enough of the old rules.
3. Learn the New Game
You need to learn the tech, get on Zoom, and understand how to market online.
But guess what? If you can survive corporate politics, you can figure out Kajabi and Mailchimp.
4. Call Out the Bull
Don’t let anyone, man, woman, or algorithm, tell you what you can or can’t do.
When you hear ageist or sexist nonsense, call it out. Loudly.
5. Take Care of the Asset (That’s You)
You’re the goose that lays the golden eggs. Treat yourself like it. You’re in this for the long haul.
Here’s what nobody tells you: The freedom, the fulfillment, the fun-it’s all real.
When you build something of your own, on your terms, you get to decide how big you go, who you work with, and what legacy you leave.
You’re not just making money. You’re making a statement.
You’re showing your kids, your friends, and the world that the best chapters aren’t written in your 20s-they’re written when you know who you are and what you’re worth.
Is it hard? Sure. Is it scary? Sometimes. But is it worth it? Hell yes!
Don’t let the world, or that little voice, tell you it’s too late.
The only thing standing between you and the business you want is the decision to start. Make it today.
Now go out there and show them how it’s done!
P.S. If you’ve got a story, a win, or a war wound to share, drop it in the comments.
Let’s make some noise. The world’s been quiet long enough.
